URxvt doesn't show blinking text if background color is set

Hi there,

As I reported 2026-05-02 07:06 (UTC)

I have installed URxvt
<https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/rxvt-unicode/> via sudo pacman
-S rxvt-unicode on ArchLinux, and while executing
echo -e '\033[31m\033[5mHello\033[0m'
correctly prints blinking red text on default background, executing
echo -e '\033[41m\033[5mHello\033[0m'
does not result in blinking text on red background, as it should.

Notice that other terminals, like XTerm, correctly show the blinking (at
least of the foreground, not sure the background should blink too):
