Long commands on multiple lines

Hello,

I have an unwanted behavior on urxvt v9.15.

When I type a long command this is what I see :
<nts/downloads/software/qt-all-opensource-src-4.5.3/

What I would like is :
spam at machine:~$ ls documents/downloads/software/
qt-all-opensource-src-4.5.3/

As you can see I have the long commands on a single line.
I would like to have long commands on multiple lines.

How do you do that?
