Hmm, if it doesn't work with rxvt-unicode, then a negatie linespace would
not help - the font rendering is not affected by linespace, only the
posiiton is.

No, it doesn't work - urxvt really doesn't handle overlapping lines, and
there are numerous occasions where urxvt clears the line which would clear
the wrong part of other lines.
