No ideia but I have a somewhat related "bug". On urxvt with Consolas
font my uppercase accented letters don't have the accent, in other words
if I type É or Í I only see E and I. Don't matter the size of the font,
accent or letter. But this only looks to happens with Consolas font, and
uppercase letters and only with urxvt (vte and xterm display the accents
ok).
As I don't put accents on uppercase letter very often I don't know for
how long this "bug" is hitting me.
I said that this is related because a ^ cropped from above can be a ..
PS. I never reported this because I know, from previous discussions,
that if a font don't work in urxvt (even if it's works with any other
terminal under the sun) the problem is with the font or user until
proven otherwise and I'm still trying to find where the problem is.
