[BUG] another victim for the X11 popup hang

Yes, I reported this ages ago, and looked into it myself.  From what I
can recall there was an odd poll() happening just *before* it froze,
but I was unable to reproduce it each time.

The Ubuntu bug report doesn't list anything useful.  Can you *please*
perhaps put an instance of urxvt through strace, *before* you make it
hang, and post it somewhere for me to see?  I will then try and
compare that to what I know happens to see what matches.
