xcompmgr +urxvt borders

Hi, I'm using urxvt and xcompmgr to get a transparent terminal. The main urxvt window becomes transparent just fine, but I'm having an issue with the urxvt borders. When I run "xcompmgr -n" the border around urxvt becomes completely transparent, letting the background shine through. This normally wouldn't be too much of an issue, but my window manager is a tiling window manager, so I end up getting gaps between urxvt windows.

Here is urxvt tiled without xcompmgr, it is working fine:

Here is urxvt tiled with xcompmgr, with large gaps between the windows:

No other program seems to have this problem, so I think it might be something with urxvt. I've tried testing other programs without transparency, as well as using transset to imbue them with transparency, and I don't have any issues with border gaps. If xcompmgr isn't running this problem does not appear. I'm not sure if there is a setting in Xdefaults that will fix it; I've tried a lot of settings like internalBorder, externalBorder, borderWidth, etc, but none of them seem to be what I'm looking for.

Thanks for any help or insight.
