OpenSolaris Line Drawing Character Problem

My locale is set to en_US.UTF-8:

With the above locale settings the program displays correctly under urxvt 
on various Linux distros and on FreeBSD.  With the same locale settings on 
OpenSolaris I'm seeing the problem in the screen shots.
