text area moves/shrinks when changing font size

Thanks for your answer. Note that my original goal was to re-create the 
XTerm font choice menu, which is handy when connecting / disconnecting 
an external monitor.

Yes. I have now tried 9.05, which works much better and does not mess up 
the text area for me.

No. The text area was getting messed up for any font change. Any of the 
following events would then re-draw it correctly: move window; 
resize/maximize window; or switch tabs when tabbar active. That's what I 
meant.

Question: how can I obtain a handle to the urxvt main window, so that I 
can XMoveResize that one? $term->{parent} only gives me the text area 
(excluding the tabbar overlay).
