[bug] crash when date exceeds 32-bits (x86_64)

Steps to reproduce:
1. Run an x86_64 kernel
2. Run rxvt-unicode
3. sudo date -s "Sat Aug 25 01:00:00 MDT 2107"
Versions tested on:
8.1, 8.3, and cvs head from 2007.08.25
Backtrace:
Program received signal SIGABRT, Aborted.

This bug would never be seen in a real environment, but if the fix is
trivial, it would still be nice to have.
