urxvt ignores xmodmap changes

Hi,
I'm running urxvt v8.2 in daemon mode. When changing the X key map with
xmodmap, the attached terminals keep the old key mappings. Only
restarting urxvtd helps. This also happens with standalone terminals (no
daemon). All other X programs are of course accepting the keymap
changes. Am I doing something wrong?
This is the configuration I used for compiling:
CXXFLAGS='-march=i586 -O3 -fno-threadsafe-statics -fno-enforce-eh-specs'
./configure --prefix=/usr/local/stow/rxvt-unicode --disable-everything
--enable-combining --enable-xft --enable-font-styles --enable-fading
--enable-xim --enable-selectionscrolling --enable-mousewheel
--enable-smart-resize --enable-pointer-blank --enable-utmp --enable-wtmp
--enable-lastlog --with-codesets=all --enable-frills
Kind regards,
Stephan Walter
