Most projects I know dislike these bugs ("It doesn't work on gentoo")
because it's most likely user error.  rxvt-unicode runs fine here.
This is probably a case of overzealous CFLAG optimization.  Try
rebuilding with some sane CFLAGS, or none at all, and see if it works.
