Issues with backspace

Ok, this may be totally unrelated to urxvt, but I'm messing with some
of the backspace settings in Xdefaults.

I've recently been messing with VFU ( http://cade.datamax.bg/vfu/ ),
which specificially uses ^H to go "up" a directory. Oddly enough,
Ctrl+BS works for this, but it screws up when typing. Ideally this
app should be patched, but I decided just to switch my backspace key.

I set:
     urxvt*backspacekey: ^H
in my .Xdefaults, which works great in most readline based apps, and
works in VFU too, however, it refuses to do anything in vim, which is
rather annoying.

Has anyone done this with success? Does anyone know why ^H would
*not* work in vim?
