It already is, and nobody complained for a decade or so. If it is a
problem, it's not an important one :)

As a matter of fact, your patch increases the likelyhood of users pasting the
wrong text, as it changes rather old behaviour.

I think it very much would make sense to do it that way, as rxvt already
uses the clipboard if the selection is empty. (Or at least in those
versions where this is not broken :).

Well, I am one of them, for example. I would be rather pissed off if I
couldn't paste with the keyboard anymore :)

I now a few others, but they share the same sowkr style as me, so that's
not representative, I guess.

What do the other people on this list think about this issue?
