Unfortunately, apple uses a very old and buggy version of clang (and this
is, in fact, such a bug in clang). At the moment, you either have to use
a newer versions of clang, or gcc (last time this came up, gcc was still
installed, so all you need to get a working compiler is to change the
compiler to gcc).

You can use clang, but not the very antique and unsupported version that
apple for some reason ships with xcode. (It's a political thing, and you
are the victim).
