From smith_winston_6079 at hotmail.com Tue Aug 22 11:12:22 2006 From: smith_winston_6079 at hotmail.com (Winston Smith) Date: Tue, 22 Aug 2006 14:12:22 +0500 Subject: Postcard Hoax Message-ID: Dear Folks, seems like someone harvested our e-mail addresses from the mailing list. It might have happened that you received a mail from a 'postcard service', asking you to click on a link to see the full text of a 'postcard'. Of course, this link leads you to an exe-file which you are supposed to execute. Don't do it. It's a fake. I don't know what the exe does since Linux can't execute them, but for those of you using the biggest virus ever from Redmond (aka Windows): Don't download and execute that file. Thanks for your attention... Regards, Winston Smith _________________________________________________________________ Express yourself instantly with MSN Messenger! Message-ID: <20060825021639.68821.qmail@web37907.mail.mud.yahoo.com> There may be a problem with... something here. I tried to view a file listing (Mahou no Princess Minky Momo) and received a 404 error. Out of curiosity, I checked a different directory and was banned for too many connections. I was then (later) banned again for the same reason when I tried to check the `Server Status Page & Queueing Info' page. This did not used to be the case in the past, and when I double-checked the FAQ it should not happen now even, so I would assume there is something wierd happening here. I tried this on a GNU/Linux box with Firefox 1.5.0.3 from an Australian connection, in case that information is relevant. -- Matthew ?_________________________????_????_______ /???_______???_______???_?\??|?|??/??_____| |??|_____??|?|???????|?|_\?\?|?|?|??/ |???_____|?|?|???????|??_??|?|?|?|??|?Of?Grans |??|_____??|?|_____??|?|?\?|?|?|?|??\_____ \________|?|_______|?|_|?|_|?|_|??\_______| ____________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? No, but: > ...'couse I cant unzip this file: "Perfect Blue cd1.mpg.gz" There is no such file on the server. Do you mean "Perfect Blue (CD 1).mpg.gz" instead? That is fine: frank /usr/www/anime/movies/Perfect Blue# gunzip -vt *gz Perfect Blue (CD 1).mpg.gz: OK Perfect Blue (CD 2).mpg.gz: OK frank /usr/www/anime/movies/Perfect Blue# md5sum * 52bc3ab3efce6b27baaf473cbdab7567 Perfect Blue (CD 1).mpg.gz e23a4861e6ccc4f1bb14a8be1ed02add Perfect Blue (CD 2).mpg.gz Likely, your download was corrupted. Try to switch off any non-standard downloading tools. Some tools are just too stupid and interpret error messages (e.g. for timeouts or blocks). > I have tried with several programs, but the result is always the same: > i have crc error at 99% during unzipping. If you send me an rdiff signature of your file (http://librsync.sourcefrog.net/doc/rdiff.html) I might be able to generate a delta file for you if it isn't too large. -- The choice of a -----==- _GNU_ ----==-- _ generation Marc Lehmann ---==---(_)__ __ ____ __ pcg at goof.com --==---/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / http://schmorp.de/ -=====/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ XX11-RIPE From awkward.ail at royalparty.com Wed Sep 13 12:03:07 2006 From: awkward.ail at royalparty.com (awkward) Date: Wed, 13 Sep 2006 13:03:07 +0300 Subject: Your home cr edit Message-ID: <72918443875288.DDF2366C71@25EQ> Highly Respected, You have been chosen to join in an invitation only limited time event!
