Temperature is not a problem anymore, as all disks are directly in the
airflow. Space and cabling are far more problematic. Or controller BIOS
software, which in my case happily puts all disks in UDMA 5 mode despite 90cm
long 40 pin cables :/

Also, one disk somewhat died (it's still readable, which is all I want
from it for the next years or so, but it doesn'T like to be written anymore.
Fortunately it was nearly full already).

That's a very interesting problem indeed. I asked a few people
form australia and they had no problems. Maybe the specific
institution/provider used a transparent (or a normal) proxy? Some
institutions filter everything with certain words in the domain name, such
as ... "anime".

Another possible reason for the problem would be that there were routing
problems (it seems some us provider errornously grabbed IP space assigned
to the server), but that was only temporarily, and started only afetr you
first reported that.
